Old Boys Remembered

Old Harveians of a particular vintage will be very saddened to hear of the death of John Nicholls, former Head of Geography and Senior Teacher. His very moving funeral was packed by his family, former colleagues, friends and former pupils.

You may be interested to know that the life of one of your schools' former famous pupils was celebrated recently.

W J English was educated at Folkestone Grammar School (also known as Harvey Grammar School) from 1894 to 1898.

The Ulster History Circle unveiled a 'blue circle' plaque at the former home of Lt Col W J English VC at 16 Kings Road, Belfast on Thursday, 24 June 2004. The unveiling was undertaken by Mrs Barbara McAnuff, daughter of English VC.
