Stop Press - Specialist School Status

Headteacher Keith Rivers has received confirmation that the school's application to become a Specialist Sport College, with Mathematics has met the required standard and as a result the school will be designated from 1st September 2005.

He adds his thanks to the Association for the support given to the school to help achieve this.

Following our unsuccessful bid in 2004, the combined status of Science and Sport proving too demanding for us, at that time (although Science remains a major player at The Harvey) we are now moving forward with a second bid in March 2005 to become a Sports College with Mathematics.

When successful this time, The Harvey will be officially designated as a Specialist School with effect from the 1st September 2005.

School Roll and Staff

At the beginning of the 2004-2005 School Year, the School Roll stood at 967 - the highest in its history. The Sixth Form numbered 231 - another all-time high - and in addition some 43 students from Folkestone School for Girls signed up for some of their A Level lessons at the Harvey.
